The expansion brings the opportunity to make more collection available and provides the public a better experience. It is not only about a new venue for exhibitions but also a dramatic improve for the museums in order to operate as an institution of the 21st century.
Many of art museums in Asia have been expanding the scope for cultural activities. As an example, the National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea gets a New Seoul Venue which is to be a main annex for cultural activities and exhibitions, and the construction will be completed by 2012. The Seoul Venue will be an opportunity to revamp all of the national art museums and their various functions, and create the means for new cultural dynamics.
