The National Museum of Contemporary Art, Korea(Director Bae, Soon-hoon) presents the retrospective photograph exhibition <Bae, Bien-U> from October 1, to December 6, 2009. This exhibition provides the opportunity to see the world of the photographer, Bae, Bien-U who is famous for photography of pine trees.
Since his 1st solo exhibition as oriental artist at the Thysen Art Museum in Spain, Bae has been world known for his natural photos including photos of Alhambra Palace Garden sponsored by the Spanish government. So we are proud of to welcome Bae, Bein-U, one of the Korea’s leading photographers.

This retrospective exhibition shows various stages of art work including sea, rocks, pine trees (introduced in elementary school textbooks), Korean mountain’s ridgelines, Changdeokgung gardens and Alhambra palace’s gardens. Those photos of Alhambra palace are introduced in Korea for the first time.

During the exhibition, National Museum of Contemporary Art will give the docent tours (every 10:00, 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00, 18:30), events including artist meeting (October 14, 14:00), ‘Photo in education’ for kids, lectures for teachers and others.
